28 THEWEDDINGPLANNERMAG.COM PLAN YOUR WEDDING Dress Up Time! The Bride's Moment T he bride's reveal is one of her most iconic moments. The music hits a crescendo, the doors re-open, and standing there is the most anticipated vision of the day, the year, a lifetime — the bride in her gown. Dress Shopping Nervous yet? Don't be. Shopping for your wedding dress is of the most fun and exciting facets of planning your wedding. It's your chance to play Cinderella and "E! Red Carpet Live" all at once. What other time in life do you get to prance around in a cloud of lace, tulle, or organza? The last time was probably when you were playing pretend bride at the age of 4. Pinch yourself because now it's all real. Say Yes to the Dress To make the "say yes" process as pleasurable as possible, there are a few musts. Like so many other aspects of a wedding, the main "must" is giving yourself enough time. If you want a classic wedding gown from an actual bridal boutique (i.e., not ordering a white dress online), chances are it will take some time to get your dress ordered, cut, and shipped — sometimes up to 7 months for some of the more-coveted brands. This will also leave you time for alterations once the dress has arrived. Anna Bowser Photography Lori Hedrick Photography Kemper Mills Fant Photography
