24 THEWEDDINGPLANNERMAG.COM As a Day Spa Owner and Licensed Esthetician, brides oen ask me what a good beauty regime is to get ready for their big day. I always recommend to my brides a monthly spa beauty bootcamp to nourish their skin and give them that gorgeous glow when walking down the aisle. With the stress and energy is takes to plan a wedding, it is easy to lose focus on taking care of yourself. To help put you back on track, I've outlined a Beauty Prep Countdown for all of those who are love bound! Six to Four Months Prior: Schedule a visit with an Esthetician and begin a series of facials and light peels. With the proper cleansing that spa facials provide, your pores will be refined and dead skin cells will effectively be removed. By getting rid of dead skin cells and bacteria, a healthy cell turnover will be promoted, leaving your complexion looking and feeling hydrated and rejuvenated for your big day. At LASH etc., we suggest our award winning Intraceutical Oxygen Facials and Hydration Facials for our brides. Three Months Prior: It's time to think about your brows! Three months prior to the wedding day, allow your brow expert to be- gan creating the perfect brow shape and color (tint) that is most flattering to your facial features. Good brows will make a huge difference in those everlasting wedding pictures! In addition, have your makeup artist show you how to properly fill in your brows using pencils or powder products! During the three month mark, you should also begin getting regular manicures and pedicures to whip your nails into shape. A professional manicure and pedicure is designed to thoroughly exfoliate, removing the dead skin cells and bacteria that builds around the nails. With these services, your hands and feet will appear smoother and well groomed. Two Months Prior: As you come to town months prior to your spe- cial day, it is time to try out a Spray Tan session in order to get the perfect, natural, skin color you are going for. Provide your spray tan expert with pictures and details on how tan you would like to be. It's important to try the spray tan prior to the week of the wedding to see how it will fade. Aer your trial, be sure to book another tan for two days prior to the wedding. The two month mark is also the right time to have your Makeup and Hair Trials with the professionals you have hired for the actual wedding day. Hiring professional makeup artists and hair stylists are a must! In addition to our brides feeling less stressed and pampered, our LASH etc. beauty team helps to create a unique but uniform makeup and hair look for the entire bridal party! One Month Prior and Wedding Week: In the final month and weeks before the wedding, it is important to continue on your schedule with facials, manicures, pedicures, and brow waxing and tinting. This is also the time to get Eyelash Extensions and splurge on a massage. Trust me, you deserve both at this point! Eyelash Exten- sions have been a celebrity secret for years! This fabulous service will provide an immediate difference in the look of your eyes. They are a must have for brides because having eyelash extensions means that you do not need to wear mascara, curl your eyelashes, or spend the time putting on strip lashes. Your eyes will appear more reeshed and glamorous for all of the wedding festivities! It's important to do your research before having eyelash exten- sions applied. The service must be done by a licensed esthetician and/ or licensed cosmetologist.
