Getting Started PLAN YOUR WEDDING Don't let the thousands of decisions that stand between you and the altar also come between you, your relationships, and your happiness. Consider hiring a wedding planner to save time, money, and most importantly, your sanity. A wedding planner can help you refine your ideas into a cohesive, memorable event while keeping you within budget. He or she will recommend trusted vendors, design the event of a lifetime, develop schedules and checklists, be there for rehearsal, and ensure that you, your partner, and your guests enjoy every moment of your wedding day. Hiring a wedding planner also allows your loved ones to fully experience your wedding day with you. Mothers and best friends are usually very involved with the planning decisions. On your day, allow them to be pampered with you rather than concerning themselves with the deliveries and set-up of the reception. Let them dance the night away and enjoy themselves. Leave the day's logistics and the timeline to the planner. As another option, many wedding planners also offer a "day-of " wedding coordination packages for brides who have planned their own wedding but would like someone to take over four to six weeks prior to the wedding. This allows the couple to relax and enjoy their friends and family. Coordination is similar to the final phase of planning. A site visit, vendor confirmations, timelines and logistics plans ensure your day is flawlessly executed. Such services are typically booked at the beginning of the engagement, but may be booked later as wedding day stress begins to take over.
