Congratulations on your engagement! After you have shared the news with friends and family, you may wonder what's next. First, take a deep breath and enjoy this wonderful chapter of your life. You'll want to set aside some time to discuss your big day with your fiancé and your families. Determining an estimated budget and guest list should be a priority. Together with your parents, make an invitation list. If you are allowing single friends to bring dates, don't forget to include these potential guests in your totals. You should also have several dates -- or a season -- in mind. With this information in hand, begin searching for a venue that will accommodate your guest count and your vision. A beautifully designed venue will leave you swooning, but do not forget to consider the attentiveness of their staff. Venues may offer a range of services, such as catering and rentals. These included services or the ability to bring in your own will help you weigh your options. Use this guide throughout your engagement to help plan and gain inspiration as you create your own wedding-day magic. It will also introduce you to amazing vendors as you begin this exciting endeavor. Best wishes! TIP: If considering an outdoor venue for either your ceremony or reception, formulate a rain plan to be implemented in the event of inclement weather. A tent is a great way to frame the beautiful West Virginia scenic views while protecting you and your guests from rain or direct sunlight.
