PLAN YOUR WEDDING Wedding Flowers Stem by Stem F inding the right floral designer for your big day can be very chal- lenging without these few key points that will surely steer you in the right direction. First, research online through websites, Instagram feeds and Facebook who is doing work that most suits your style. Save off some photos or start a Pinterest page of florals that inspire you. Re- member, these photos are for your designer to interpret your style and color scheme, not to duplicate. Next, set up your appointment and come armed with questions you may have about color, pricing, design, and delivery. If you have favorite flowers, see if they are available and know that substitutes might be necessary. One of the hardest parts of floral planning is matching your style with your budget. My advice here is to be realistic. This sounds sim- ple and easy enough, though with Pinterest boasting photos of large pieces, filled with the most expensive flowers it can be tough. Talk openly with your design- er about cost. He/she will be honest with what you can expect. You will certainly know after the very first meeting if things seemed to click. Hopefully, your floral meeting had both you and the designer feeling good about the direction your flowers will be taking. Allow your designer the opportunity to play a little; their best work will come from that flexibility and will allow your flowers to really shine! The natural beauty that flowers bring to your wedding day is priceless. by Alexis Bishop The Green Flamingo Flower Co. Hayes & Fisk Photography Don Mears Photography Eye Capture Photography
