5 Foreword is edition of the Impact journal is unlike any other. e articles share a myriad of perspectives on mental health from first-hand accounts of school shooting victims to educators who implement mindfulness practices in their classroom daily. You'll notice the common theme among the articles is the need for support that supersedes what is currently in place in schools across the nation. Our children need to better understand what they are experiencing and recognize how to respond when they see that something is not quite right. e authors are educators, practitioners, and advocates who understand the difficulties that a tragedy can impose upon a community. e accounts of the issue, and how to address it are clear.
